About The Author
Telishia “TJ” Johnson is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and trusted guide for individuals and couples seeking deeper connection, emotional clarity, and meaningful change. She is supervised by Dana Lewin, LMFT-S in Texas and Amy Zoloth, LMHC in Washington, and works with couples and clients navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, and career stress.
At the heart of TJ’s work is the belief that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in relationship. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, she approaches growth through a relational lens, exploring how family systems, culture, and lived experiences shape patterns of connection, communication, and emotional regulation. Her work with couples and families often focuses on reducing conflict, rebuilding trust, strengthening communication, setting healthy boundaries, and creating practical tools that foster long-term change.
Clients describe therapy with TJ as warm, non-judgmental, and deeply grounding—a space where they can slow down, feel understood, rebuild self-esteem, and develop habits that support a more fulfilling life. Her writing reflects this same philosophy, blending science-backed insight with accessible, real-world application.

"TJ Johnson has captured the exact feeling of the 'modern marriage'—two people passing each other in the hallway like ships in the night. The Relationship Garden Method is more than a metaphor; it’s a practical, step-by-step roadmap to reclaiming intimacy. As a therapist, I haven't seen a more accessible guide for busy couples."

"What sets this book apart is the integration of Polyvagal Theory and attachment science without the academic jargon. It explains why we feel unsafe in conflict and gives us the '10-minute rituals' to fix it. It’s rare to find a book that is this grounded in science yet so easy to read before bed."

Masterful Metaphor Meets Real-World Results
"I loved the concept of 'Pulling the Weeds' of resentment. Most books tell you to 'just communicate,' but TJ tells you how to tend to the emotional environment first. Our 'relational weather' has significantly cleared up since we started using the cycle tracking tools."
